I'm a silly, queer, polyamorous, vegan, neurospicy, anticapitalist, antiracist, anticolonialist feminist. I approach astrology from a practical, trauma-informed, science-grounded point of view. I use astrology as a tool for self discovery, complemented by my understanding of mindfulness, psychology, neuroscience, sociology, and anthropology. I'm here as a guide to your birth chart and a coach to help you articulate yourself to yourself so you can find greater acceptance, love, and empowered guidance from within. Anyone who pretends they know how you should live your life is selling something. I offer questions. You have the answers.
I have BA in Anthropology from Boston University cum laude and am a graduate of Astrology University's four year professional astrologer certificate program. At AU, I learned from some of the most skilled astrologers of our time including Tony Howard, Safron Rossi, Demetra George, Steven Forrest, Karen Hamaker-Zondag, Darby Costello, Mark Jones, Lynn Bell, Jessica Murray, Kelly Surtees, Jason Holley, Brian Clark, Kathy Rose, Jessica Lanyadoo, and more. I'm a lifelong learner with infinite curiosity about our world, human beings, and the magic of existing.
I started learning about astrology in 1994 but did not launch my professional practice until 2020. In the meantime, I worked as a gymnastics coach and gym manager, an office manager, a recruiting coordinator, and a learning and development manager at various Bay Area tech companies. I have a strong background in teaching, coaching, and business and in addition to my astrology practice, I work as an HR consultant with Pathways Consulting and am the studio director at Tilton's Floor Gymnastics.

I grew up in the California Bay Area, the child of two gigging jazz musicians. We didn't have much money, but we always had dogs. My mother took me on long hikes in the Oakland hills, through redwood-shaded creeks that lit up my imagination and fostered my connection to nature, and my dad shared his love of music, introducing me to the records of his childhood--Duane Eddy, Ritchie Valens, The Hollies. I studied piano, guitar, violin, and voice growing up, but decided I wanted to become a writer instead of a musician. I've spent many years developing my writing skills and have used astrology as a map for navigating my creativity. I understand the challenges creatives face, and I'm good at identifying what your astrology suggests might help you overcome things like perfectionism, lack of motivation, and creative blocks, as well as how to structure your process in a more functional way.
I fell in love with gymnastics at 4 years old, and never fell out. In high school I started coaching and continued through my early 30s. I managed an Oakland, CA gymnastics gym for several years, coaching preschool, recreational, and competitive gymnastics for kids of all ages. In college, I worked as a preschool assistant, expanding my understanding of early child development and my ability to relate to kids. Gymnastics shaped my relationship to children and athleticism, and these are two more topics I am confident guiding others to better understand.
Not everything in my life has been great, though, and of course I have my share of trauma. I developed an eating disorder at 13 years old and it went untreated until I started therapy at 32. Body dysmorphia is something I unfortunately understand incredibly well, but the silver lining is that I'm able to use my own experience to help others have a better relationship with their own bodies. Astrology has been a key component of my recovery that's helped me untangle nuanced connections between my sense of self worth and my body. Without astrology, I doubt I would've had a number of realizations that have been imperative to my healing journey, and I definitely wouldn't have had them as quickly.
I have been both lucky and unlucky in love. I know about managing heartbreak, finding a healthy partnership, and recovering from an unhealthy one. Astrology can tell us so much about what we seek from others, which has a lot to do with what we seek in ourselves. I'm married to one of the loves of my life and astrology has helped us learn to communicate more effectively and better understand and navigate each other's needs, orientations, and drives to have a happy and harmonious union. I believe authenticity is the root of finding love and that only through being our most authentic selves can we attract others that we vibe with in a soul-nourishing way. Astrology has helped me better know and accept myself, which has allowed me to love myself, which has strengthened my ability to love and accept love from others.
In 2016, someone I loved died young, tragically, and publicly. Since then, I have become well acquainted with grief and grieving. I have learned the importance of moving through our feelings to process and release them, and have developed a skilled ability to be present with others who are grieving, and those with grieving beloveds.
I live in Portland, Oregon, and we choose to live here because it's very vegan, pretty queer, and comparatively progressive. I'm polyamorous and have had monogamous and poly relationships since I started dating in 1996. I understand the challenges that come with all styles of relationship and am confident in helping others understand and articulate what they want and need in partnership whether that's with one person or many. I'm fascinated by relationship astrology and love using this tool to help individuals connect with themselves, and partners or polycules connect with each other.
Astrology currently sits in a complex cultural place. This is an ancient tool that's been developed and refined over thousands of years, but like any tool, it can be dangerous depending on how its used. Modern life is incredibly stressful, confusing, and complicated. Since the Copernican Revolution, humanity has grown increasingly obsessed with knowing, but so much of our experience is unknowable. The human mind isn't able to comprehend all the mysteries of life, the universe, and everything, and yet many people go forth with supreme confidence in their ability to do just that. Whether it's genuine or opportunistic, I side-eye that kind of certainty. Before Copernicus, humans "knew" that Earth was the center of the universe, and scientists are still making discoveries that call their knowing into question all the time. This is just to say: astrology is not a tool for knowing, but discovering.
In 2024, we are moving into a long period whose astrology suggests people's thirst for spiritual guidance will increase and whenever that happens, we see others emerge ready to take advantage. It's important to me to be a bastion of ethical astrology. This tool has been instrumental to my own growth and healing, and like anyone who's had a positive experience with something, I want to share it. At the same time, I want to caution against predators who might use astrology to manipulate and take advantage. I'm hyper aware of how people can take something positive, like the impulse toward spiritual guidance, and manipulate it for profit or power. There are no shortage of cult and scam stories demonstrating exactly this, and I expect the trend will continue. Which is just to say: I promise to only ever use this tool for good.
In this video I share my approach to astrology and how we can use this incredible tool to help you step into a more authentic and balanced expression of yourself and in so doing, cultivate a truer, more fulfilling (and fun) life.
